I love reading and as of now that is fiction only. Love all genres except horror and for the past few years, been gorging on romance. Thrillers are my first love and add some romance to it then all the more better.

The Heartbreak Kid (Harlequin Temptation, No 623)

The Heartbreak Kid - Alison Kent Rating 4.5 stars

So, I was in college while reading this and holy shit I couldn't stop reading and then there was this super hot scrabble game scene that made me want to call the fire department. This book was hot, sexy and romantic.

The hero is a flirt but a good one, he has just come back to town to open his own veterinarian practice. The heroine is an engineer by training but works as an electrician, leading a nomadic life, wanting to find her father who walked out when she was 5. Her desire for family reeked of childhood dreams yet it was so sad because in reality she grew up with a mother who cared only about men, so passion was something she wasn't looking for. So, when she is stranded with the hero, the emotion and the passion that flares between them is scary.

I loved it how the hero fell for her so soon and wanted her to stay and take a chance with him while she was so vulnerable. Loved the book and I loved seeing the hero's elder brother and sister-in-law and kids. Going to read the first book now.
