I love reading and as of now that is fiction only. Love all genres except horror and for the past few years, been gorging on romance. Thrillers are my first love and add some romance to it then all the more better.

The Unwanted Wife

The Unwanted Wife - Natasha Anders This made me break my self imposed reading exile. What a angst filled book, almost HP'ish, blackmail, a jerk hero, grovel, pretty good all around. The heroine loved the hero but didn't know the hero was blackmailed into marrying her, so for eighteen months he is a jerk to her, having sex with her, never kissing her on the lips, insulting her, making her feel like a brood mare, never introducing her to his friends and family, probably cheating on her and asking for a son every time they had sex, and she took it all, one day she threw the words she has wanted to say, I want a divorce and the hero reacts in a way she didn't expect it.

He starts acting all good towards her but it is too late for her, she doesn't want any of it or believe it and then she gets to know about the bargain, her giving him a son would end their marriage. She wants to leave him so bad and thwarts his every attempt, even when he tells her he thought she was in on the bargain and tells her he never cheated on her, she just doesn't care. I loved it how she froze him out at every turn and then she falls pregnant again(she had a miscarriage before) and tells him it will be a boy only, she wants out that bad.

I loved the scene when she gives birth and its a girl and the different reactions both the h/H had. It really was an angst fest.
