I love reading and as of now that is fiction only. Love all genres except horror and for the past few years, been gorging on romance. Thrillers are my first love and add some romance to it then all the more better.

Jake'S Child (Silhouette Romance)

Jake's Child (Silhouette Romance, No 696) - Lindsay Longford Rating 2.5

I really didn't enjoy this much, the dialogue and writing felt awkward.

In the middle of the night our sleeping heroine is woken up by pounding on her door and the hero refuses to leave along with the kid Nicholas. Sarah grudgingly lets them in and even gives a little to eat and makes Jake sleep outside.
This sets up how these two behaved overall, Jake like a total jerk, trying to bully and scare her and Sarah was insipid actually. Of course it is obvious Nicholas is her son but she doesn't know that, she buried herself after she thought her son died, Jake knows a different version of the story and is gauging and judging her and even after he learns differently instead of grovelling threatens to take her son away, what a prize I say? His so called courting style needed work and I never felt or cared about the romance.

I guess being an older book some considerations have to be taken.
