This book could have been shorter, way shorter because I felt it dragging when I was reading it and that's not very good. It's not something very original, an average read. The heroine is actually hiding out in a small town with her daughter, the reason her creepy brother-in-law (BIL)murdered her possessive husband and then said Gail was involved as well, he was convicted but people still looked at her with doubts and the BIL swore he would get even and harm her daughter.
The hero is a US Marshall who has come to keep an eye on her since the BIL escaped and he believes like everyone else she is guilty and can't understand how he can be so attracted to her. She tries to run, he stops her, she tells him the truth, he believes her and then they get involved knowing he won't stay.
Nothing special.
